Spurs 5K

On Saturday, March 21 the turtles competed in their 3rd 5K. It was the Spurs 5K and benefited CASA (Child Advocacy???).

The race was held at the AT&T center where the champion Spurs play. The course, well....was just the AT&T parking lot - no pretty scenery to look at, nobody dressed up to talk about. Just us and thousands of other people. The weather was cool, but foggy, damp and HUMID. We started off strong - completing our first mile in our fastest time yet - 12 minutes. That isn't actually fast to real runners, but for me it's fast. We kept the pace pretty close to that for mile 2. But, mile 3 I pooped out a bit. We still ended up finishing about a full minute faster than our previous times. SO, we were pretty happy about that! Here are some pics from Saturday:

The Spurs Coyote and former Spur Sean Elliot were there to lend a hand of support and cheer. Beev and I both high-fived the Coyote as we ran by him!
